Speaking with Kay Adams, Tyreek Hill walks back Miami Dolphins trade request.

Tyreek Hill was a guest on Kay Adams’ Up & Adams show on Friday ahead of the Super Bowl, and his comments were once again eye-raising — however for very different reasons than the last time he spoke with NFL media.

When asked by Adams on Friday if he wanted to remain with the Miami Dolphins despite pulling himself from Week 18’s loss to the New York Jets and then saying he was opening the door to an exit from the club following the game, Hill changed his tune.

I do. I do. I don’t want to go nowhere. I love it. My family loves it. Kids absolutely love being on the beach every morning. So it’s an amazing thing, man.

In regards to his relationship with his teammates, Hill claimed to have already had conversatoins with many of them while also saying they understand he’s sorry for his post-game comments.

They know I’m not that type of player. A lot of people may say, ‘Reek is a hothead. He’s this. He’s that.’ But all my teammates know.”

Despite plenty of reports that intimated Hill was routinely late to practice and/or meetings in 2024, Hill claimed that wasn’t true and instead boasted about being an ideal teammate.

For me, I love to show guys my hard work and my appreciation to them by just going to practice every day, busting my tail, showing up to meetings on time, just doing everything the right way, the exact way a pro is supposed to be, doing the stuff where a No. 1 player is supposed to be,” he said. “Being on time, being very coachable, being very attentive in meetings and stuff like that. I think that’s the biggest thing I can offer to my teammates and just being that type of leader, what I’ve been my whole career.

Adams asked Hill if he wanted to publicly apologize to quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, and with a tongue-in-cheek smile on his face, Hill replied:

Tua, he’s my guy, always will be my guy, no matter what,” he said. “I’m sure he understands my frustration. We all want to win. Tua, he’s another competitor. He’s a hell of a competitor. A lot of people don’t know that. He’s a winner. He’s consistent. So I’m looking forward just to us continuing to build our relationship even more, and this is my public apology.

This is my public apology to you, Tua. Love you, bro.

There has been plenty of speculation whether or not Tyreek Hill will be traded from the Miami Dolphins at the start of the league year next month. Hill’s public apology tour — genuine or not — clouds that scenario even further. Time will tell if The Cheetah is a member of the Dolphins in 2025, but we will keep you updated with all of the news as it unfolds.
