The 2024 NFL regular season kicks off for the Miami Dolphins on Sunday as they host the Jacksonville Jaguars. How can you watch the game?
The Miami Dolphins open their 2024 season with a home game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Both teams are coming into the season expecting to make the playoffs in the AFC this year, Miami backing up two straight postseason appearances and the Jaguars trying to shake off a late-season collapse from last year that caused them to miss the playoffs. Who will take the first step toward a playoff berth and who will leave Hard Rock Stadium with work to do?
The focal point for the pre-game analysis for the matchup is on the two quarterbacks, with both Jacksonville’s Trevor Lawrence and the Dolphins’ Tua Tagovailoa both signing contract extensions this offseason. The game, however, will be decided in the trenches, specifically the Jaguars’ pass rush versus Miami’s protection. The Dolphins come into the season with the offensive line the biggest question mark on the team. How will it hold up against Josh Hines-Allen, Travon Walker, and the constant pressure Jacksonville can create?
Miami’s success in Week 1 may come down to the basics. Can they block? Can they create space for the running game? We will all be watching to see how the line comes together, giving Tagovailoa a chance to find wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle as well as providing space for running backs Raheem Mostert and De’Von Achane.
