Not great news, but there’s still plenty of time for him to get better before Sunday’s big game.
The Eagles have just five days left before suiting up in the biggest game of their life, and it looks like an illness might be making the rounds. It seems like everyone is sick, even Jalen Hurts was dealing with something during the NFC Championship Game, and now it appears Jalen Carter is the latest victim.
The second-year player participated in all of the Super Bowl events up until Wednesday, when he missed his media availability as a result of catching a bug.
#Eagles standout DL Jalen Carter missed his media availability today because of an illness, I’m told. We’ll learn later about whether he participated in practice and if so, how much.

As reported, missing media availability is one thing, but missing practice is another. We’ll have to see if he’s able to get some work in, and to what capacity. Still, it’s better he takes some time to rest up and avoids spreading whatever he’s dealing with to his other teammates.
The Eagles defense needs Carter on the field, and it’s hard to imagine being sick will keep him sidelined. But a healthy Carter is going to wreak more havoc than a DT weakened by the flu.
