Garrett penned what could be a heartfelt goodbye to the city of Cleveland.
Since being taken with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, Myles Garrett has been an absolute superstar. He has earned a trip to six Pro Bowls and been nominated to the All-Pro team four times. He was the 2023 AP Defensive Player of the Year as well.
Twice a year, he would get to wreak havoc on the Cincinnati Bengals as well. That time might soon be coming to an end, with Garrett recently requesting to be traded from the Browns.
Now, the Bengals may not have to see Garrett at all. However, given how much of a dominant defensive end he has become, there’s no doubt he will command quite the return from any team looking to add the monster lineman.
Here’s his request straight from Adam Schefter.

Garrett had, by his standards, a down year, ending with 14 sacks. He has 16 sacks in back-to-back seasons during 2021 and 2022. However, he did have a league-high and carer-best 22 tackles for a loss and coupled that with 28 quarterback hits.
What Garrett’s market is has yet to be seen as well. Garrett signed a five-year, $125 million extension in 2020, so he still has two seasons left before being an unrestricted free agent.
He has a cap hit of $19.7 million for the 2025 season and $20.4 million for the 2026 season, so it won’t be cheap to add Garrett. Regardless, players of his caliber don’t hit the market often, so the Browns will certainly have their suitors.
Nonetheless, let’s just hope a trade is made so the Bengals can stop seeing Garrett running at Joe Burrow so often.
For what it’s worth, the Browns say they will not be trading Garrett. Will be interesting to see how this plays out.
