Rams are set to receive third round compensatory pick in 2025 after Falcons hired Raheem Morris a year ago
The offseason to-do list for the Los Angeles Rams is long. They have significant needs at key positions—like receiver, corner, offensive tackle, and quarterback—they are usually expensive to fix.
When thinking through how the Rams could plug some of these holes, it becomes apparent that a big obstacle to overcome will be a lack of their second round pick in this year’s NFL Draft. LA is missing this selection because they traded up for Braden Fiske in the second round of the 2024 draft. According to most modern trade charts, the Rams paid the steepest price of any second round trade up in recent history.
Not having a second round pick becomes an easier pill to swallow for two reasons: (1) Fiske demonstrated as a rookie that he’s a dynamic pass rusher and (2) LA is set to receive an additional third round compensatory selection as a result of the Atlanta Falcons hiring former Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris as their head coach last offseason. This is the second of two compensatory selections Los Angeles will receive related to Morris.

The Rams will hold the following seven picks in this spring’s draft, though the actual order is pending the result of the Super Bowl and the official awarding of compensatory picks resulting from last offseason’s free agent signings. LA is not expected to receive compensatory picks related to last year’s free agent crop.
Round 1
Round 3
Round 3 (compensatory, towards end of round)
Round 4
Round 6 (from Falcons)
Round 6
Round 6 (from Pittsburgh Steelers)
LA doesn’t hold their own fifth or seventh round picks in addition to the missing second rounder because of trade packages involving Van Jefferson (who was sent to the Falcons in 2023) and Kevin Doston (who was acquired from Pittsburgh in 2023).
