Burrow continues to apply pressure to the front office to extend guys like Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins
Although it is officially the offseason for the Cincinnati Bengals, Joe Burrow continues to make it clear that he expects the front office to pay his teammates.
Burrow has publicly put pressure on the front office since the Bengals win over the Dallas Cowboys during the season to extend both Tee Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase.
Fast-forward to Thursday evening at the Pro Bowl, and Burrow has made another statement publicly about paying his teammates what they rightfully deserve.
During the skills contest on UCF’s campus, Burrow was interviewed by ESPN, and he had plenty to say about Chase’s contract situation.
“I don’t know what more he could show and do to prove himself,” Burrow said on ESPN. “We have several guys like that who have stepped up for us and deserve to be paid and deserve to be paid what they’re worth.”
This is arguably the biggest offseason in franchise history, so ensuring that Chase, Higgins, and Hendrickson are here long-term is the first step in ensuring it is a successful one.
Higgins has made it clear he wants to stay in Cincinnati after leaving his former agent and signing with the same agent that represents Chase.
The Bengals simply need to make it happen.
