Giants at the Senior Bowl: Who are the QBs to watch? Which NY coaches will be there? | The Athletic
Historically, the Senior Bowl has been a fertile scouting ground for Schoen.
During his previous tenure as the Buffalo Bills assistant general manager from 2017 through 2021, the Bills selected 14 Senior Bowl participants in the NFL Draft. That trend has continued with the Giants, as seven of his selections over the past three drafts have participated in the Senior Bowl. In 2022, it was cornerback Cor’Dale Flott, tight end Daniel Bellinger and linebacker Darrian Beavers. In 2023, it was center John Michael Schmitz and running back Eric Gray. Last year, the group included third-round cornerback Dru Phillips and fourth-round tight end Theo Johnson.

3. New York Giants: QB Shedeur Sanders, Colorado. His 49 big-time throws since 2023 tied for fifth, and his 1.6% turnover-worthy play rate in that span ranked second to only Bo Nix.

However, he was unable to contain his excitement when detailing his relationship with the Giants. New York head coach Brian Daboll went over to chat with Sanders during the Shrine Bowl’s first practice on Saturday. Daboll, general manager Joe Schoen, assistant general manager Brandon Brown and assistant director of player personnel Dennis Hickey also made sure to catch up with Sanders in the lobby of the player hotel after practice Saturday afternoon as well.
“It was very exciting, and we have a great relationship,” Sanders said of seeing and meeting with the Giants this week. “They definitely showed up plenty of times even to practice. Just seeing the logos and seeing the scouts, it’s very exciting.”

CB Dru Phillips. Giants GM Joe Schoen has taken a lot of Ls recently, but Phillips is a W. The third-round pick looks like a steal after Year 1, proving to be the Giants’ top cover man. He led Big Blue with a -7.2 target EPA and was the only New York corner with a negative EPA per target (-0.17). The Giants desperately need help on the outside of the defense heading into 2025, but they should be confident in Phillips growing in the slot gig.

The Giants are so starved for production at outside cornerback that they may have to bring Adoree’ Jackson back on another short-term contract. He earned just a 64.5 PFF coverage grade while breaking up five passes in 2024. Those modest numbers represent an upgrade from some of the team’s younger options who have struggled so far in their careers.
Giants’ Kayvon Thibodeaux gets into social media brawl with former Cowboys star | NJ.com
Giants linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux took to social media Sunday evening to fire back at critics. Former Cowboys star receiver Dez Bryant took an opportunity during the Eagles’ 55-23 win over the Commanders to take a dig at the Giants for letting running back Saquon Barkley walk in free agency.
Most Devastating Call of All Time Against Every NFL Team | Bleacher Report
New York Giants: PI Not Called After Botched FG. Rich Seubert is an offensive lineman, and offensive linemen are rarely eligible receivers. But he was an eligible receiver in this case, and Chike Okeafor pulled him down for what should have been pass interference.
But the refs thought Seubert was an ineligible receiver, and you can’t be called for pass interference on an ineligible receiver. The NFL admitted that pass interference should have been called. And though the Giants did have other ineligible players downfield, the result should have been offsetting penalties and a replay of the down.
