Tyreek Hill on end-of-season comments: It was frustration

Tyreek Hill on end-of-season comments: It was frustration

The five-time first-team All-Pro added that the Miami Dolphins need to add “dawgs” to the roster.

Emotions boiled over as the Miami Dolphins failed to reach the postseason for the first time in three years. Wide receiver Tyreek Hill, who reached the playoffs in each of the previous eight seasons, kept it simple following a season-ending loss to the New York Jets — ‘I’m out.

Roughly three weeks later, the five-time first-team All-Pro addressed the comments while streaming Fortnite.

“What y’all heard at the end of the season was frustration,” Hill said. “I’ve been winning my whole life. I bust my [butt] every day, so I deserve to feel like that — I deserve to have some sort of opinion.

“We gotta put pressure [on the franchise], like come on and add some [expletive] dogs.”

Hill certainly deserves to voice his opinion, and unfortunately, he’s right — Miami needs mentally tough players. However, their top receiver — with a salary cap hit of nearly $28 million next season — sent mixed signals about his own toughness by pulling himself from the season finale in New York.

Dolphins general manager Chris Grier stated that Hill “never asked for a trade with me,” while Hill’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, could not confirm whether he wants to remain in Miami. While Hill dismissed concerns about his comments, this issue doesn’t appear to be fully resolved.
