Bills at Chiefs: 5 storylines to watch in AFC championship
The Buffalo Bills will roll on in the NFL postseason.
Following their win over the Baltimore Ravens, the Bills (13-4) will take on the Kansas City Chiefs (15-2) at Arrowhead Stadium in the AFC championship.
But before we even get to kickoff, there will be a lot of Bills-related discussions and conversations to be had throughout the coming days.
Here are five storylines to watch for during the lead up to Bills at Chiefs:
Josh vs. Pat

There are a lot of different angles to look at whenever the Bills and Chiefs clash, regardless if it’s in the postseason or the regular season. However, all of them come back to one topic: Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen and Kansas City QB Patrick Mahomes facing off… just like Allen against the Ravens’ Lamar Jackson last week… but maybe even on a higher level.
Who will step up in the playoffs this one? Allen or Mahomes?
Earlier this season

Another comparison to the Bills-Ravens clash from a week ago: Buffalo and Kansas City did battle during the regular season. There is one major difference this time, though. The Bills won in the regular season against the Chiefs in a 30-21 final.
Not that this matters all that much since… Baltimore beat Buffalo in the regular season, too.
That didn’t make much of a difference on Sunday, but it’s still going to be talked about in the coming days.
Ghosts of playoffs past

That game where Bills beat the Chiefs in Week 11 won’t be the only one that has previously taken place that will be discussed this week. Specifically, every time Buffalo and Kansas City have faced off in the postseason will be under a microscope for one simple reason.
It has been the same result in all of those with Allen and Mahomes playing: The Chiefs won all three.
Can the Bills buck that trend?
Away from home

Bills Mafia travels well, but it’s not going to be the same.
Thanks to wrapping up the No. 2 seed in the AFC postseason picture this year, the Bills hosted their first two playoff opponents in Orchard Park at Highmark Stadium.
This time, that will not be the case. Arrowhead Stadium and the Chiefs Kingdom will be a much difference setting on Sunday. Can the Bills still handle that?
Super Bowl meaning for both teams
USAT
While both teams will mention not looking beyond this upcoming game, these guys in Buffalo and Kansas City are all only human. Both sides will wonder, “what if?”
What if the Chiefs make it? They’ll have a chance at NFL history. Kansas City is vying to become the first team in league history to win three-straight Super Bowls.
And the Bills? Well, you know their history with Super Bowls…
