Week 1’s NFL action continues with Green Bay against Philadelphia from Brazil.
The Kansas City Chiefs opened the 2024 NFL season on Thursday night, collecting a 27-20 win over the Baltimore Ravens on GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.
But Week 1’s NFL action will continue in an unusual time and place: on Friday night in São Paulo, Brazil — where the Philadelphia Eagles will host the Green Bay Packers in an NFL International Series game at Corinthians Arena.
Kickoff is set for 7:21 Arrowhead Time. Noah Eagle and Todd Blackledge will have the call on the Peacock streaming service, WCAU (NBC/10-Philadelphia), WGBA (NBC/26-Green Bay) and WTMJ (NBC/4-Milwaukee).
Last season, both teams made the playoffs after finishing second in their divisions. The Eagles’ 11-6 record earned the fifth postseason seed, while the Packers’ 9-8 season gave them the seventh seed. Philadelphia fell to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 32-9 in the Wild Card round, while Green Bay beat the Dallas Cowboys 48-32 in the opening weekend before turning in a 24-21 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional round.
The two teams last played in 2022’s Week 12, when the Eagles dropped the Packers 40-33 in Philadelphia.
According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Eagles are favored by 2.5 points.
But I think the Eagles are trending down, while the Packers are trending up. I expect Green Bay to open its season with a 27-24 win over Philadelphia.
What do you think?
