Jared Goff
Goff was terrible on Saturday. He ended the game 23 for 40 for 313 yards, 1 TD, 3 INTs and 1 fumble lost. On a day where the Lions rushed for over 200 yards, the four turnovers from Goff made it impossible for the Lions to keep up with the Commanders. Jameson Williams added another INT to get the 5 total turnovers for the team.
Dan Campbell
Coach Campbell decided to keep playing his players when he was up big in the 4th quarters of games. He decided to keep playing his players in a meaningless Week 17 game. It worked, until it didn’t. His team needed rest. They were dropping like flies. The mantra of next man up only works until you run out of talent and have poor chemistry. The defense was worked over. Campbell has to look back and realize it isn’t important to win more games by 30 than anyone ever.
Mark Andrews
There isn’t a non-QB player that hurt his team more than Mark Andrews. The fumble with 8:50 left in the 4th quarter was bad, but the defense gave them the ball back with a chance to tie. The Ravens marched down the field, with some help from Andrews, and scored a TD. The game tying 2-pt conversion drop was a choke. I am sure no one feels worse than Andrews did after the game. Feel bad for him and the team. The Bills still would’ve had a lot of time left to win the game, but it sucks to lose the chance to stop them.
NFL Refs
I guess it isn’t fair to call the refs nincompoops, because at this point it’s fair to question if it comes from the league. The level of protection Patrick Mahomes gets is unfair to every other player in the league. It was so bad, Troy Aikman couldn’t hold his comments back during the game. The Chiefs probably still win that game, but it was ruined by the officiating.
