CFP 2025 National Championship- Notre Dame Fighting Irish Vs. Ohio State Buckeyes Live Thread & Game Information
By
The first-ever CFP 12-team playoffs wind down this evening with the CFP 2025 National Championship game. Both teams in tonight’s game, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Ohio State Buckeyes, had to win three games to reach the Championship game. Four teams earned a bye week in the first round, but all four teams—the Arizona State Sun Devils, the Oregon Ducks, the Georgia Bulldogs, and the Boise State Broncos—have since bowed out of the playoffs via defeat.
Notre Dame earned its spot in the Championship Game by defeating the Indiana Hoosiers 27 to 17 in the first round, the Georgia Bulldogs 23 to 10 in the quarterfinal round, and the Penn State Nittany Lions in the semifinal round. The Buckeyes made it to the Championship round by defeating the Tennessee Volunteers 42 to 17 in the first round, the Oregon Ducks 41 to 21 in the quarterfinal round, and the Texas Longhorns 28 to 14 in the semifinal round.
