That’s a fascinating development, but not surprising. It’s been said that Brady’s presence is helped the Raiders attract a stronger pool of coaching candidates, including top prize, Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson. But the front office has a different dynamic. The front-office community is small and tight one. The members know how things can get thrown off track easily if there is a lot of involvement from ownership. The candidates just saw Tom Telesco got pushed put because of Brady’s involvement and the candidates are watching closely. If a GM job comes with less power than usual because of the involvement of a higher future in the franchise’s hierarchy, some candidates may not be interested.
