How would you convince new NFL fans to pick the Eagles as their team?
The Philadelphia Eagles are about to play the Green Bay Packers in the first-ever NFL game in South America, and while it might not be the same as in Philly, Brazil knows passionate sports fans, which should help make it feel a little more like home.
Saquon Barkley spoke to reporters on Thursday and was asked what he would say to new, international fans who are trying to pick an NFL team to root for:
“I think they should choose the Philadelphia Eagles, one, because we got great guys on this team. We got a great team, full of talent, and especially around here in South America, you see how passionate they are.”
Barkley went on to say that one of his friends lives in Brazil and sent the RB a video from a soccer game, and he could see the passion from fans matches that of those in Philly.
“So, if you need a team to root for, why not the Philadelphia Eagles.”
There are bound to be quite a few Eagles fans in the stands at Corinthians Arena in Sao Paulo on Friday night, but head coach Nick Sirianni said that they’re prepared whether the atmosphere feels like a home game or a road game.
