Here’s everything you need to know about the Eagles’ wild card matchup to start the postseason.
It’s the playoffs!
The Philadelphia Eagles (14-3) will host the Green Bay Packers (11-6) in the Wild Card round of the 2025 NFL playoffs on Sunday afternoon.
Quarterback Jalen Hurts finally cleared concussion protocol, A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith are banged up but still playing, and Dallas Goedert has returned from IR. The Eagles offense is healthier as a whole than it’s been for most of the season, and hopefully they’ll be able to balance the run game with the pass game and find a rhythm early in the game. The team did elevate Parris Campbell from the practice squad to give them a little more depth just in case.
Hurts didn’t have any concern with being rusty after missing a few weeks, and said that he feels great being back in his routine and around the guys. Several of his teammates noted how sharp the quarterback was in his return to the practice field, and was excited to get him back out there.
The defense is pretty similarly healthy heading into the postseason, and the vibes are strong. Some guys are celebrating their first Pro Bowl and All-Pro honors, while others are acutely aware of being snubbed. The group is young, but has been playing fast and making good decisions.
The Packers are a familiar opponent, but a lot has changed for both teams since they last faced off back in Week 1. The Eagles didn’t get to properly host Green Bay in their season opener, so now they’ll get to show off The Linc in playoff mode.
Here’s everything you need to know about how to watch the game.

History Lesson
The Packers lead the all-time regular season series between these teams, 27-17, but the Eagles have won three of their four most recent matchups. They last faced off back in Week 1 of the 2024 season in the league’s first-ever NFL game in Brazil. Philly was able to win as the home team on the road, 34-29.
The Eagles and Packers have also come face-to-face in the postseason three times. Philly leads the playoff series 2-1, but the Packers have the most recent win from the 2010 NFC Wild Card game, 21-16.
