According to one defensive player, Bengals fans will be shocked with the selection. But has a decision been made?
The Cincinnati Bengals fired long-time defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo after they were officially eliminated from the playoffs last Sunday, and the search for his replacement has been ongoing. There hasn’t been any official news as to who the new defensive coordinator will be, but it sounds like the decision may have been made.
During a TikTok live session (via James Rapien), rookie safety Daijahn Anthony says the new defensive coordinator will be a surprise to many.
“Yes, bro, it’s gonna shock a lot of y’all. I’m excited, man. New journey,” he said.
When he was asked about the timeline for the hire, he said, “I think today. Earlier today,” meaning Thursday.
For what it’s worth, Kelsey Conway of the Cincinnati Enquirer says no decision has been made.
The #Bengals have not made a decision on their new defensvie coordinator, per a source with knowledge of the situation.
The search is still ongoing.

So far, the only known coaches to interview for the vacant job are Patrick Graham, the former Las Vegas Raiders defensive coordinator, and Demarcus Covington, the former New England Patriots defensive coordinator. If someone other than those two has been interviewed, it would come as a surprise.
If Zac Taylor has made a decision on who he will hire, we likely won’t have to wait much longer to find out.
Stay tuned as this story develops.
