The Browns played their way into the second overall pick and they could be looking to add a quarterback with the high pick
The Browns have been looking for an NFL-quality quarterback to play for their team ever since they were reformed. The closest they have gotten was Baker Mayfield who this season is still looking like a solid NFL quarterback that a team can build around.
Unfortunately for the Browns, that team is the Buccaneers, who rehabbed Mayfield’s career after the Browns moved on.
Since then, the team has not gotten the quality of quarterback play they have looked for from Deshaun Watson. While he will be on the team in 2025, it seems likely that the team will be looking to add someone to push for the starting role through free agency or the draft. The team is in a prime position to add one through the draft with the second overall pick. While it is not a particularly strong quarterback class, two players are currently getting high first-round pick talk.
According to Dianna Russini recently, the Browns will be drafting a quarterback with the second overall pick.
Dianna Russini on the Browns’ draft plans on @LeBatardShow: “They’re going quarterback. They see what we see. It’s just not a mystery. This is not like they’re psyched about Deshaun Watson’s ability, leadership, play. They know this isn’t great.” pic.twitter.com/9r8uvSZQaS

The Browns will not get their choice of quarterback when picking second, so they will have to take whoever is left for them between the top two players of Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders.
Whatever happens, the Browns seem determined to try to improve their QB situation, and if it finally works out for them, the Cincinnati Bengals could have a tough competitor in the battle of Ohio.
