The former offensive lineman speaks on the adjustments he thinks must be made.
The Cincinnati Bengals will miss the playoffs this year, despite winning their last five games and going 9-8 on the season.
There is a lot to point to as the franchise goes into an offseason filled with question marks surrounding the roster and the coaching staff, but mostly, the fanbase and the national football media can point to the slow start to the season once again.
Former offensive tackle for the Bengals, Andrew Whitworth, also agrees that an adjustment has to be made, especially coming out of camp. On his weekly podcast with Ryan Fitzpatrick, Whit talked about the Bengals’ disappointing season and had this to say regarding it.

The last two seasons the Bengals have come into Week 5 sitting at 1-3. Obviously not ideal for any team wanting to make an easy run to the playoffs, as we saw this season.
The duo is also correct on how important the start of next season will be. Win early and the franchise seems to be potentially trending upwards. Start slow, and then it will be hard to recover as the season goes on.
