Two AFC candidates face off against each other to kick off the 2024 NFL season.
We kick off the season with the Baltimore Ravens (+ 128) visiting the Kansas City Chiefs (-152) in Arrowhead Stadium. The Chiefs are currently 3-point favorites according to FanDuel’s sportsbook, and the O/U for points is currently set at 46.5, which is to my surprise one of the lowests of the week.
The Chiefs extended most of their Super Bowl winning core, and are running it back led by star quarterback Patrick Mahomes. I am really excited about them drafting speedster Xavier Worthy and the potential he has coupled with a rocket arm like Mahomes. Former Colts’ quarterback Carson Wentz is now their backup, so who knows he might see some action.
The Ravens biggest move in the offseason was probably getting former Titans’ running back Derrick Henry to pair with Lamar Jackson in the backfield. Henry might be past his prime, but he is still a force to be reckoned with, and opposing defenses will have to choose between focusing on him or Lamar.
I have to say I agree with the oddsmakers on this one but I think we are going to see a lot more points scored than that, especially considering this is a quarterback matchup involving Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson, and make it a great return to football. Finally.
