Other Giant observations
Giants’ future even murkier following John Mara’s tepid support of Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll | SNY.tv
“When you make these changes, and God knows we’ve made them in the past and been inpatient in the past, when you do that, you feel like you take one step forward and two steps back,” Mara said. “I just didn’t want to fall into the cycle again.”

“I’m excited,” linebacker Micah McFadden said. “There’s a clear expectation for what this team’s vision is moving forward and what we want to do on the field. I’m excited for what’s to come and excited to be a part of it. Despite what the record was this year, the continuity is good. Everybody’s familiar with Dabs. He’s got a process and a program in place. I think their vision is clear. Obviously, this season wasn’t to our standard and I think everybody knew that. But we’ve got the right type of guys in the locker room. It starts with having good people in the building, and I think we have that.”
Jalin Hyatt non-committal on New York Giants future: ‘We’ll see’ | USAToday.com
Hyatt was asked if he was going to meet with general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll about his role going forward and perhaps a change of scenery.
“We have some talks we have to have but, we’ll see,” he said.
Heroes, zeros from Giants’ loss to Eagles | New York Post
“With them playing their backups, too, it’s kinda like a slap in the face. I understand why … but I never want to be a part of a game like that again or a season like this again.” — Giants left tackle Jermaine Eluemunor

Both of the Giants’ first-round picks from 2022 could realistically be on the move entering this offseason, but Evan Neal feels like the less likely option to still don blue and red in 2025. There’s no way to sugarcoat it: Neal’s NFL career has been extremely disappointing. While he posted a career-high 61.2 PFF overall grade this season, powered by a strong 80.8 run-blocking grade, he’s remained a liability in pass protection. In three years with Big Blue, Neal has surrendered 12 sacks and 98 pressures. Only eight other qualified tackles have generated a worse pass-blocking efficiency than Neal (95.1) since he debuted.
Eli Manning says Giants right to keep Brian Daboll, Joe Schoen | The Record
“You’ve got to have that continuity,” Manning said in an interview to promote Verizon’s Super Bowl FanFest. “To change things up has not worked. It has not worked for the Giants these last 10 years of changing every two or three years. I think Brian Daboll has showed that he has won, two years ago in the playoffs. So I think the opportunity for them to go in, they’ve got to figure out the quarterback situation this year, but they have talent. They have guys around that are playing at a high level. It’s just building that great team culture. That just takes time, and I think it’s the right move to give him that time to do that.”
Here’s why Giants’ John Mara called Saquon Barkley about taunting him with sleep-aid commercial | NJ.com
Mara said he called Barkley in the wake of that commercial, because they have a “relationship of so many years.”
“The least you could’ve done was ask me to be in the commercial with you,” Mara recalled telling Barkley, who spent six season with the Giants. “I could’ve been tossing and turning, and it would’ve been great. There is an acting gene in our family, you know. It’s not just my nieces.”
Gio: Deion, Shedeur Sanders will refuse Browns draft pick | WFAN.com
“If Deion is controlling what’s going on, there is no way he lets Shedeur Sanders go to the Cleveland Browns. You can’t,” Gio said. “If I were Shedeur Sanders, I would rather go to the Jets. That’s saying something. They may want to do it, but Deion is not gonna let that happen.”
Boomer added “If you ask me, Tennessee and Cleveland…if I were Shedeur Sanders and Deion, I would not want to go there.”
Schoen: No contact with the Sanders camp
Joe Schoen says the Giants have not spoken to Shedeur Sanders’ camp:

NFL 2025 mock draft, picks 1-18: What should non-playoff teams do in Round 1? | The Athletic
3. New York Giants: Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado. Sanders in New York feels like a match made in media heaven. Physically, Ward might have more tools (which is why I’ve got him slightly higher here), but don’t be shocked if Sanders — who, unlike Ward, had to get used to playing with so-so talent in college — is more ready to start than some believe.
2025 NFL Mock Draft: Titans take Cam Ward, Colorado’s stars go in the top three | PFF
3. New York Giants: Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado. Sanders recorded an 83.0 PFF passing grade in all four college seasons he played in. Over the past two years, he was excellent at post-snap reads and taking care of the football. Sanders doesn’t have the strongest arm, but he plays a clean brand of quarterback — which some teams will gravitate toward.

3. New York Giants: Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado. New York’s could aspire to build their ultimate offensive direction around Sanders’s strengths. Those strengths? Timing, field vision, and rhythm. All elements are opposite of much of what Giants fans were accustomed to with Jones at the helm, making it a good start for the next chapter.

3. New York Giants: Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado. The Giants fans are probably HEATED because they missed out on the top two QBs, but they make up for it by drafting the best player in the class. Hunter is a game-changing player who has the instincts and ball skills to be a dominant corner, who can also give you some fun snaps on offense
