Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 1/6/25

The Los Angeles Rams did lose to the Seattle Seahawks this past Sunday, but considering that L.A. sat plenty of key players it was impressive to see the Rams keep the game as close as they did against the Seahawks who opted to start their stars.

What was your take away from the game? Do you think L.A. has the depth needed to overcome any injuries that could happen in the postseason? How much better might this team be next year with another infusion of rookies?

Of course, we can worry about next year next year as right now the Rams must prepare for a playoff game, but feel to answer of the questions posed and thanks for checking out Turf Show Times!

Rams start Jimmy Garoppolo in game that matters, fall to NFC No. 4 seed (sports.yahoo.com)

“Facing a Week 18 game that actually mattered, the Los Angeles Rams opted to sit starting quarterback Matthew Stafford and start Jimmy Garoppolo under center instead. Their reward: the most dangerous wild-card of the playoffs.

The Rams lost to the Seattle Seahawks 30-25 on Sunday, knocking them down to the No. 4 seed in the NFC side of the playoffs. The No. 3 Buccaneers are now set to face the Washington Commanders in the wild-card round, while the Rams will be saddled with the loser of the “Sunday Night Football” clash between the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings.”

Rams lose Blake Corum for playoffs after devastating injury vs. Seahawks (clutchpoints)

“The Los Angeles Rams rolled out a plan to give Blake Corum a prime opportunity in Week 18. Kyren Williams earned rest, and the rookie RB got elevated to starter versus the Seattle Seahawks. Sean McVay even promised a “heavy load” for Corum.

Corum, however, left with a forearm injury, per ESPN Rams insider Sarah Barshop. She later revealed Corum became questionable to return.”

Seahawks beat Rams 30-25, making Los Angeles NFC’s No. 4 seed (nbcsports)

“As they’ve done several times under head coach Sean McVay, the Rams rested their starters for the last game of the season with the division title locked up and a bye not at stake.

Though the game did not have postseason implications for Seattle, it did have financial consequences for players like quarterback Geno Smith. He earned an additional $6 million by hitting his incentives for passing yards, completion percentage, and helping the club get to 10 wins.”
