A few injury updates after Thursday practices
The Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions have issued their second injury reports ahead of their big game on Sunday night. Here they are:
Minnesota Vikings
A few changes for the Vikings, with C.J. Ham and Harrison Smith upgraded to full participants on Thursday. Ed Ingram was also added to the list, being limited with a back issue. At this point I’m expecting only Patrick Jones II to be out for Sunday night’s showdown, although Fabian Moreau could also carry a questionable tag.
Detroit Lions
The Lions had three upgrades on Thursday, as Alex Anzalone, Amik Robertson, and Jack Campbell were full participants in Thursday’s practice. Backup guard Christian Mahogany was added as a DNP with an illness, joining Emmanuel Moseley.
But the big upgrade is Anzalone, who could be activated from IR for Sunday night’s matchup. I’d still put him at roughly 50/50 to play on Sunday, but we’ll have more insight after tomorrow’s practice and injury designations.
The Lions just waived WR Tom Kennedy, which would seem to make room for the return of Kalif Raymond from IR. They haven’t made another move to make room for Anzalone yet.
Overall, it looks like everyone but David Montgomery could be available for the Lions on Sunday, with Anzalone questionable. Anzalone himself was unsure if he’d play or not:
#Lions LB Alex Anzalone has a steel plate in his left forearm. Says he’s still unsure if he’ll play this week against Minnesota. He’s certainly not close to 100% but called it “bullsh*t” for those who feel that Detroit’s defense isn’t good enough to win the Super Bowl. pic.twitter.com/19xX8o4b93
