Giants looking to build on their best performance of the season
The New York Giants will face the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday in their final game of the 2024 NFL season. After breaking their 10-game losing streak with a 45-33 win over the Colts, the Giants look to carry some momentum into the offseason. But it won’t be easy. The Eagles, fresh off a dominant 41-7 win over the Dallas Cowboys, are 3-point favorites according to FanDuel Sportsbook as of Monday afternoon.
Philadelphia (13-3) has already locked up the No. 2 seed in the NFC playoffs and enters the game with running back Saquon Barkley on the verge of NFL history. Barkley, who has already surpassed 2,000 rushing yards this season, needs just 101 yards to break Eric Dickerson’s single-season rushing record of 2,105 yards, set in 1984. There are questions about whether or not Barkley will play vs. the Giants.
The Giants (3-13), meanwhile, have the No. 4 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft entering Week 18. Head coach Brian Daboll made it clear the team is focused on finishing strong, not on draft positioning.
New York’s rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers shined against the Colts, catching seven passes for 171 yards and two touchdowns. Quarterback Drew Lock accounted for five total touchdowns in the win, showcasing the team’s potential with effective quarterback play.
The spread may not be as daunting as expected, with the Giants listed as 3-point underdogs but it reflects the possibility of the Eagles resting key starters. Still, New York will need another near-flawless performance to keep pace with Eagles’ starters or backups.
