It’s the first injury report of the season
The Minnesota Vikings are officially in week one of the 2024 season and since it’s Wednesday and they play on Sunday, that means the first injury report of the season has been released:
Minnesota Vikings
- WR Jordan Addison (ankle) – limited
- WR Jalen Nailor (ankle) – limited
New York Giants
- S Dane Belton (back) – limited
- QB Drew Lock (abdomen) – limited
- LB Micah McFadden (groin) – limited
- WR Gunner Olszewski (groin) – limited
Kevin O’Connell spoke about the two Vikings on the injury report in his press conference today and said he hoped to get Jordan Addison to be a full participant by the end of the week, suggesting he’ll likely be playing on Sunday.
He also said that Jalen Nailor suffered an ankle injury in practice but is progressing well but may be a couple days behind Addison in his recovery, which could mean something closer to a ‘questionable’ status for Sunday’s matchup if I’m reading that correctly, depending on his progress the rest of this week.
For the Giants, the only starter on the list in safety Dane Belton. Unclear how severe that injury is for Belton, but if he’s not able to go he would likely be replaced by rookie second-round pick Tyler Nubin (a former Golden Gopher). The two had been competing in training camp for the starting job but Belton was believed to have won it.
Stay tuned for more injury reports tomorrow and Friday.
