Eagles’ running back Saquon Barkley crossed the 2,000 rushing yard threshold on Sunday against the Cowboys, and his teammates were the first to celebrate the incredible accomplishment. It was Barkley’s milestone, but it reflected a special type of team effort, and they all had a lot to say about how deserving the running back was of the feat.

“It’s special. What did you say, nine people have done that? Nine total. I don’t know all the names, but I imagine they’re pretty special names. Saquon is pretty special. This offensive line is pretty special. This offense is pretty special. I know the guys were excited when that happened. Yeah, it’s just a cool thing to be a part of. Any time you can be a part of something special, that’s what’s cool about being part of a team.”
KENNY PICKETT
“Special guy, man. One of the best ever. Best I’ve ever been around. But just speaking on more of the kind of guy [Saquon Barkley] is, the person, get a chance to, you know, play golf with him, just hang out and continue to grow our friendship. Can’t say enough great things about him. He deserves every bit of what he’s getting. He’s worked for it. Put the time in, put the hours in. So really happy for him.”
LANE JOHNSON
“That’s a testament to [Saquon Barkley]. Coming to another team, first year, a lot of expectations. Just a truly, super talented football player, great teammate. I was happy for him.”
Johnson also explained to his teammates that he was part of LeSean McCoy’s single-season record his rookie year, and how the right tackle thought it was something that would happen often, but it took over a decade to see it happen again. He wanted to highlight how special it was that Barkley reached that milestone.

The backup quarterback said that when they took the field on that milestone-hitting drive, they all knew how many yards Barkley needed and wanted to get that for him.
