The Bengals kept their playoff hopes alive with an exhilarating overtime win over the Broncos.
The Cincinnati Bengals’ hopes of making the NFL Playoffs have been hanging on by a thread for a while. That thread just got stronger with their first victory against a team with a winning record, taking down the Denver Broncos 30-24 in overtime.
With the victory, the Bengals’ playoff hopes come down to losses by the Broncos, Colts, and Dolphins, combined with a road win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 18.
The win showed that the Bengals could compete against good teams and gave good momentum as the Bengals moved against the Steelers. The Bengals may be relying on other teams to lose to make the playoffs, but winning their own game is the first thing they’ll have to worry about.
What this win also showed was how important Tee Higgins is to the Bengals. With three touchdown catches, including the game-sealer in overtime, Higgins showed that he was simply irreplaceable for the Bengals. With the change in agent, there is some hope for that, and Higgins is making his case for paying him and Chase in the offseason.

Zac Taylor on Tee Higgins: “He’s a warrior.”
Higgins battled a knee injury this week. But Taylor said he texted Taylor during a team meeting at the beginning of the week and said, “I’m playing.”

Taylor on end of regulation: The injury timeout on Brown’s injury changed everything.
They were telling him to go down and they were planning to kick with about 10 seconds left.
Couldn’t do that after the timeout.

The bidding war in free agency is going to be insane if he leaves Cincinnati. https://t.co/DFVHg3asEe

From the news conference room next to the #Bengals locker room you can hear clear as day the loud “TEEEEEEEEE!” chant coming from the game ball giveaways.

The Bengals still need the Colts to lose to the Giants or Jags, the Dolphins to lose to the Browns or Jets, and the Broncos to lose to potentially KC’s backups. Long way to go

You, whoever you are, do not want to face Joe Burrow in the playoffs.
Forget the Bengals, you don’t want to face Burrow. Period. https://t.co/9TCxw4Qwyu
