Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 12/28/24
The Los Angeles Rams are on a four-game win streak as they look like they are finding their stride at the right time while the NFL prepares for postseason play. However, I have concerns that this is the same team who lost to the Chicago Bears earlier this season. A Bears team that just put up three total points, and lost to the Seattle Seahawks as Seattle kept their playoffs hopes alive.
Are the Rams the same team they were when they took on the Bears all those weeks ago? L.A. may have different personnel, and they have been playing better since that loss, but this is the same team who failed to get it done against what stands as 4-win team.
The Rams also lost to the Cardinals this year by 31 points in Week 2, but they can right that ship this coming Saturday when the two face off for their second and final time of the season.
The Rams have done plenty right, but they have to keep proving they are headed in the right direction. A loss to AZ would be a huge step back like it was earlier in the season, like there loss to the Bears was as well. But a win could propel L.A. to the top of the NFC West. We’ll find out which way this goes tonight.
In meantime, please comment on whatever you want and thanks for checking out Turf Show Times!
Rematch vs. Cardinals Another Pivotal Point for the Rams (si.com)
“I felt like, in the moment, it was a humbling day,” McVay said. “I do think that if there’s anything you’ve learned, every single game matters so much, but you don’t want to ride the emotional rollercoaster that these games can take you on if you do have the ability to stay steady, to stay the course and try to right the ship. Certainly, that is not complete by any stretch, but our guys have done an excellent job of not allowing the way that we started, especially in those first five games, to affect what we did coming off that bye. That Week 2 game was certainly a really humbling one, and they dominated it from the start.”
McVay noted how the Rams have gotten closer as a team since their early season loss to the Cardinals. The Rams have gone 9-4 since that loss and are now just two wins away from winning the NFC West for the first time since winning the Super Bowl in 2021.”

Rams vs. Cardinals prediction, odds, spread: 2024 NFL picks, Week 17 Saturday predictions from advanced model (cbssports)
“The Los Angeles Rams (9-6) will try to extend their four-game winning streak when they host the Arizona Cardinals (7-8) in an NFC West battle on Saturday. Los Angeles has won eight of its last 10 games to take a half-game lead over Seattle atop the division standings. Arizona has dropped four of its last five games, including a 36-30 loss the Panthers in overtime last week that eliminated the Cardinals from the playoffs. They still have a chance to sweep this season series, though, as they cruised to a 41-10 win over the Rams in Week 2.
Kickoff is set for 8:15 p.m. ET on Saturday at SoFi Stadium. The Rams are favored by 6.5 points in the latest Rams vs. Cardinals odds, while the over/under is 47.5. Before entering any Cardinals vs. Rams picks, you’ll want to see the NFL predictions from the model at SportsLine.”

With Playoffs Nearing, the Rams Continue Finding Ways to Win (ktla.com)
“I think you just put yourself in all different kinds of situations, especially with a young football team, and understanding it might be a shootout against Buffalo where you have to put up 44 to go win a football game, or it might be the next week where it’s 45 degrees and raining and the ball is slipping all over the place,” Stafford said.
“We have to run it a hundred times and kick four field goals to win the game, whatever it is. We’re doing anything we possibly can to find a way to win. I think [Head Coach] Sean [McVay] is doing a hell of a job of managing the games that way. Would we like to come out and score 35 and give up seven every game? Absolutely. It just doesn’t happen that often. Finding ways to finish games in the fourth quarter with whatever the game is playing like is a huge part of playing December football. We’ve done a nice job of it so far.”
