Along with injury designations for Sunday’s matchup
The Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers issued their second injury reports of the week in advance of Sunday afternoon’s matchup. Here they are:
Minnesota Vikings
- Fabian Moreau, Hip, OUT
- Ivan Pace Jr., Hamstring, QUESTIONABLE
That’s it for the list of injury designations for the Vikings. Everyone but Stephon Gilmore (veteran rest day) and Moreau were full participants in Friday’s practice. Pace has been a full participant all week and while listed as questionable, I suspect he’ll be activated from IR and play on Sunday.
Green Bay Packers
- CB Jaire Alexander, Knee, OUT
- T Andre Dillard, Concussion, OUT
- LB Quay Walker, Ankle, OUT
- S Evan Williams, Quad, OUT
- S Javon Bullard, Ankle, QUESTIONABLE
- LB Ty’Ron Hopper, Ankle, QUESTIONABLE
- WR Christian Watson, Knee, QUESTIONABLE
Jaire Alexander has been ruled out after being downgraded from full to limited to DNP in practices this week. Packers’ head coach Matt LaFleur was asked if there was a disagreement between the player and team about playing through his injury, which LaFleur did not answer, simply saying the injury report will be out at 3pm.
Quay Walker and Evan Williams both being ruled out is a bit of a blow to the Packers defense. Former Viking Eric Wilson is likely to replace Walker at linebacker, while Williams being out will stretch the Packers’ secondary a bit thin.
Javon Bullard was limited all week in practice, so probably 50/50 whether he plays or not, although Matt LaFleur seemed somewhat optimistic.
Christian Watson did not practice all week, which would seem to make him more doubtful to play on Sunday, although Matt LaFleur said the door remained open for him to play.
Overall, however, the Packers will be a bit thin in their defensive secondary for the Vikings game on Sunday, and if Watson can’t go, they lose a deep threat on offense.
Stay tuned.
