REPORT: Dolphins’ WR Tyreek Hill ‘expected to play’ vs. 49ers in Week 16

ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that the Dolphins will have their star wide receiver for Week 16’s matchup vs. the San Francisco 49ers. #FinsUp

With Jaylen Waddle listed as doubtful for Sunday’s matchup vs. the San Francisco 49ers, the Dolphins needed their star wide receiver, Tyreek Hill, now more than ever before. Unfortunately, for Miami and Hill, a wrist injury saw him added to the injury report late Friday afternoon, with the official designation for Sunday’s matchup as questionable.

But all of that changed a short time ago, when ESPN’s NFL Insider, Adam Schefter, gave an update on the availability of several players for Sunday’s slate of games, including Miami’s playmaking wide receiver, Tyreek Hill.

According to Schefter, Hill is expected to play Sunday against the 49ers. This is great news if you’re an optimist because, believe it or not, this game still has playoff implications for the Dolphins, who continue to hold on to a chance at an AFC playoff appearance by a strand.

With Hill back in the lineup, Tua Tagovailoa should have had better success than a week ago when Miami’s offense reverted to its old ways, where it could not do anything on the ground or through the air. That said, Hill has been a shell of himself this year, catching 67 of 104 targets for 805 yards and five touchdowns (the lowest of his career).

All this comes after Hill showed the world in his first two seasons that he was more than just a Patrick Mahomes Merchant. He earned himself the coveted No.1 player spot on NFL Network’s Top-100 player list. And yet, the Dolphins have nothing to show for it unless losses on Super WildCard Weekend tickle your fancy. Still, Hill won’t give up:

Maybe it’s unfair to pile on Hill for his lackluster season. After all, he suffered a wrist injury at the beginning of the year that has been bothering him since, and he just welcomed a newborn girl into the world. And yet, I can’t help but want more from the man getting paid ALL THAT MONEY and for the team with A WORLD OF EXPECTATIONS heading into the season…

I thought maybe this year would be different, and perhaps it has — for all the wrong reasons.

What are your thoughts heading into Week 16’s matchup vs. the San Francisco 49ers? Do you think Tua Tagovailoa and Miami’s offense will bounce back against a very good bdefense? How do you feel about Tyreek Hill heroically playing through his wrist injury? Let us know in the comments section below!
