This might be the biggest question facing the Giants at the end of the 2025 season
The New York Giants head into Week 16 with a 2-12 record and are in contention for the first pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Last week we asked you how many more games the Giants would win this season. The most common response, unsurprisingly, was “0”.
Now we want to put a bit finer point on it with this week’s question: Will the Giants get the first pick in the 2025 NFL Draft?
That’s a bit trickier question, particularly since the Giants don’t control their own destiny there. It’s possible that they could still lose out and finish second overall. The Raiders currently hold the first overall pick and are at least as bad as the Giants and the Giants’ strength of schedule remains high.
The Giants also face two very winnable games. Michael Penix will make his first start this week for the Atlanta Falcons. Anthony Richardson, meanwhile, has yet to make the leap for the Colts and come close to playing up to his prodigious athletic potential.
The Giants are still playing hard and were in position to win against a bad Saints team. It’s entirely possible that the Giants could win one, or both, of their upcoming games.
So, will they lose out, or win a game? Will the rest of the league cooperate and help the Giants pass the Raiders? Will the Giants get the first pick in the draft?
