A move for the Vikings’ roster
The Minnesota Vikings have an opening on the practice squad, as the Las Vegas Raiders are reportedly signing outside linebacker Andre Carter II to their active roster for the final three games of the season, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.
Carter signed with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent out of Army in 2023 and surprised by making the 53-man roster. He spent all season with the Vikings, appearing in 12 games, primarily on special teams. He was a part of the final cuts that the Vikings made after training camp this season and was re-signed to the practice squad but had not been elevated to the main roster at any point this season.
It will be interesting to see what the Vikings do with this open spot with the playoffs approaching. They could shuffle things around to accommodate a veteran player if they feel there’s anyone out there who could potentially contribute to a playoff run.
When the Vikings sign someone to fill Carter’s spot on the practice squad, we will pass the news along.
