Joe Schoen, Brian Daboll fates don’t have to be a Giants package deal | New York Post
Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll came in together, both on five-year contracts. This does not mean they must or will go out together.
There is no doubt co-owner John Mara envisioned these two, hired in 2022, alongside each other for years to come, returning the Giants to their glory days, friends who worked together in Buffalo in assistant roles hitting a grander stage, with promotions and a bond that would be unshakeable.
New York Giants hiring Joe Schoen cost them Jim Harbaugh as coach | USAToday.com
Veteran sports author and columnist, Ian O’Connor, looked back at the move to hire Schoen and Daboll and the other options the Giants had available to them with back then.
“The Giants loved Adam Peters as a GM candidate but loved Joe Schoen just a bit more,” O’Connor posted on X. “They thought John Harbaugh’s guy in Baltimore, Joe Hortiz, was a bit nervous in his interview, but he was going to hire Jim Harbaugh as Giants head coach. What could have been?”

Malik Nabers nominated for Pepsi Rookie of the Week | Giants.com
For the second consecutive week and 10th time this season, the Giants have a player nominated for the Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Week. Wide receiver Malik Nabers earned his fifth nomination for the weekly award after he caught 10 passes for 82 yards and a touchdown against the Baltimore Ravens. This was the third double-digit catch game of the season for Nabers and his first since Week 4. It also marked the first time the rookie wideout found the end zone since Week 3.
This came one week after running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. picked up his fifth nomination of the season.

The Giants have a clear opportunity to land one of the draft’s top quarterbacks, with prospects like Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders or Miami’s Cam Ward potentially on the radar.
The other relieving element for the Giants is that next year’s quarterback already has a sure-fire WR1 on the team in Nabers, who’s thrived despite very underwhelming play under center. Nabers’ 82.6 receiving grade leads all qualified rookie wideouts, and his 82.3 overall grade sits fifth among all rookies who have played at least 100 snaps on offense. Moreover, the LSU product is tied for 10th in first downs gained and ninth in missed tackles forced among all wideouts. There’s no second-guessing picking him at No. 6 overall.
Giants to Host Colts on Dec. 29 | SI.com
The NFL announced that the New York Giants’ regular-season home finale against the Indianapolis Colts will be played on December 29 at 1:00 p.m.
There had been some consideration of having the game played on Saturday, December 28, which would have been the anniversary of the 1958 NFL Championship game between the Baltimore Colts and Giants, more commonly known as “The Greatest Game Ever Played,” which was played on December 28, 1958, at Yankee Stadium and won by the Colts 23-17 in sudden death overtime, the first such game to be decided int hat fashion.

Here is Giants’ salary cap situation for 2025 — and who they can cut to create more room | NJ.com
Bottom line: Nunez-Roches surely will get cut. And Gano could be a goner, too. Okereke, Eluemunor, and Ezeudu being released is far from certain.
If the Giants release Nunez-Roches and Gano, that would give them $6.7 million in additional cap space, pushing them to about $63.9 million.
2025 NFL draft order projections: Patriots, Giants at top | ESPN.com
1. New York Giants (2-12, last week No. 1). Average draft position: 2.68 (last week 2.6). FPI chance to earn No. 1 pick: 37.4% (41.0%). FPI chance to earn top-five pick: 88.4% (90.5%). FPI chance to earn top-10 pick: 99.9% (99.9%)
2025 NFL Draft No. 1 pick odds: Shedeur Sanders, Travis Hunter, Cam Ward sit atop betting board | The Athletic
The Giants currently have the worst record in the league at 2-12, and Austin Mock’s latest projection gives the G-Men a 43 percent chance of picking first. The Raiders are 2-12 after another loss Monday night and are on the heels of the Giants to pick first with a 41 percent chance in the projections. There are five more teams with three wins (New England, Cleveland, Jacksonville, Tennessee and Carolina) that can get in the mix but need some help to fall in the standings. None of those teams have settled quarterback situations, so any could be at least somewhat logical fits for Sanders.

2. New York Giants: Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado. The mission is clear for the New York Giants in the last few weeks of the season. Just lose, baby! We’ll see whether this regime is making the call, but Shedeur Sanders is my top quarterback either way. Highly intelligent, competitive, and with a tremendous developmental track over the course of his career, Sanders has the talent and toughness to be worth the No. 1 pick.
This week’s opponent
Column: How the Falcons wrestle with the journey when the destination of a win is what they needed | AtlantaFalcons.com
In all honesty, the Falcons’ win in Vegas didn’t do much to build confidence in (specifically) this offense’s ability to score points — the fundamental goal of any offense at any level of the game. For not the first time this season, the Falcons got away with a win without much offensive production. They did so this time around because of three themes.
And while there are things to praise about the performance of this team (pass rush, Bijan Robinson’s performance, KhaDarel Hodge’s special teams prowess), everything is overshadowed by the lack of production the offense has had overall.
Kirk Cousins: “Stating the obvious” to say I need to play better | Pro Football Talk
“I think I can play better. I don’t think that’s a mystery,” Cousins said, via the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “I think the last few weeks I would say I need to play better. That’s when Raheem says it, that’s stating the obvious. Every week you go through your process and plan to play the very best that you can. So this week will be no different.”
