Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 12/17/24

The Los Angeles Rams have a -28 point differential this year, and are leading the NFC West with three games to go in the regular season. Point differential isn’t everything. If a team gives up 200 points in the first few weeks, but go on to win out and win some playoff games then will people still talk about their negative point differential? It depends on the team, and it depends how the team ultimately ends up finishing.

L.A. current point differential isn’t everything, and it does speak to some early season woes, but it also shows that the Rams are doing something right. They are finding ways to win and they’ll need to keep it up if they want to keep up their season.

Please comment on whatever you want, thanks for checking out Turf Show Times and have a great Tuesday!

What are the Rams’ odds to win the NFC West, conference title and Super Bowl? (theramswire)

“Having won three in a row and seven of their last nine games, the Rams are now in the driver’s seat in the NFC West. They obviously haven’t clinched anything yet but their odds to make the playoffs and even make a deep postseason run are improving by the week.

Below, we’re taking a look at the latest odds for Los Angeles to make the postseason, win the division, reach the Super Bowl and even win it all. The Rams are still a long shot to hoist the Lombardi Trophy but crazier things have happened in the NFL.”

Rams’ McVay Open to Aaron Donald Return; Would Be Disrespectful to Contact Retired DT (bleacherreport)

“While it isn’t hard to imagine Donald still being able to make an impact if he were to suit up again, a return to Los Angeles at this point in the season may be unlikely. The Rams placed him on the reserve/retired list on July 26, with the deadline for players emerging from the list occurring on the final business day before Week 13 (h/t Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk).

Los Angeles could technically release Donald from the reserve/retired list and then subsequently sign him as a free agent, but he’d need to clear waivers first. After he earned another All-Pro nod in 2023, an opposing team would certainly scoop him up on waivers for their own playoff push.

Donald retired as one of the best interior defensive linemen in NFL history, winning three Defensive Player of the Year awards and earning 10 Pro Bowl selections to go along with eight First-Team All-Pro appearances.”

Rams’ Sean McVay weighs in on Aaron Donald, Odell Beckham Jr. playoff reunions (cluthpoints)

“It doesn’t change anything that we have talked about for the last handful of weeks,” McVay told reporters via Gary Klein. “Unless the season ended today, it’s all just temporary. We’ve got to continue to be one day at a time, one moment at a time, and one game at a time.”

And yet, even if the Rams’ plans don’t change, could their personnel? Aaron Donald did recently share a picture of his old jersey on social media, and his return would be a major addition to the Rams in 2024, should they make it to the playoffs. Well, McVay was asked that question, too, and let it be known that he doesn’t want to speculate on his decisions, as that’s not really his place.”
