Will T.J. Watt play this week? Injury updates for Steelers edge rusher
The Ravens (9-5) covered the spread against the Giants on Sunday and will now turn their attention towards the Pittsburgh Steelers and All-Pro linebacker, T.J. Watt.
Watt was forced to exit the Steelers 27-13 loss to the Eagles on Sunday after suffering an ankle injury while rushing the passer. Watt, who leads the Steelers with 11½ sacks, was checked out in the medical tent and did not return.
After the game, Watt said he was in “wait-and-see” mode for that game. The 30-year-old former defensive player of the year came away with a rolled ankle that he didn’t think was a serious injury.
On Monday, Pittsburgh head coach Mike Tomlin approached the injury with optimism that Watt would be available for Sunday’s gigantic matchup.
The Steelers (10-4) clinched a playoff berth thanks to losses by Indianapolis and Miami.
The Ravens trail their division rivals by one game, and the teams play Saturday, with a win in Baltimore all but wrapping up the AFC North.
After facing the Ravens, the Steelers host Kansas City and finish the season at home against Cincinnati.
