Weekly check in on Philadelphia’s 2024 NFL Draft class.
The Eagles extended their win streak to 10 straight games after beating the Pittsburgh Steelers yesterday by two touchdowns. Philadelphia is 12-2 now with the potential of securing the No. 1 seed in sight. Here’s a look at how the rookies did in this game.
Quinyon Mitchell: B+
A quiet, impressive day from Quinyon Mitchell against the Steelers. Pittsburgh’s passing game was largely quiet due to Mitchell and company locking up the perimeter threats. George Pickens being absent gave Mitchell easier matchups, but he only gave up two receptions on the whole day.
Cooper DeJean: C
Defensively, Cooper DeJean was excellent once again. However, a fumbled punt return early in the game allowed Pittsburgh to put up three points. While he had a nice 22-yard return on the next punt, the giveaway is still a huge mark against the rookie.
The Rest
- A relatively quiet game for Jalyx Hunt, who only saw 17 total defensive snaps and logged a tackle. He did draw a holding penalty on Steelers left tackle Dan Moore.
- Johnny Wilson saw a bunch of snaps on running downs, often being motioned and used as a strong side blocker.
