It’s sort of a thing for this week’s game
With tonight being the Minnesota Vikings’ lone Monday Night Football appearance of the 2024 NFL season, there are specific instructions that the team is asking folks to follow, so we want to reiterate them here just in case nobody had heard them yet.
Tonight is the third annual “Winter Whiteout” game at U.S. Bank Stadium, and the team is asking Vikings fans to wear as much white as possible. The Vikings, as you’ve probably seen, will be wearing what will be the sweetest uniforms in the NFL the second they take the field, in white from top to bottom. That includes the first time in franchise history that the team will wear a helmet that’s a color other than purple.
Honestly, if you’re one of the two or three people out there who hasn’t seen the new uniforms yet, do a quick search for them. They’re awesome.
The whiteout effect looks pretty cool on television, and I can only imagine it looks equally great at the stadium itself. I’m not sure if it affects the play of anyone on the field or anything, but at this point I don’t know what affects players and what doesn’t anymore.
So, even though it is after Labor Day. . .and, honestly, I don’t even know what that means but people say it all the time. . .if you’re able to, follow the advice of the late-1900s musical sage Mick Jagger.
If you’re out tonight, don’t forget
If you’re heading to U.S. Bank Stadium, wear white.
