Giants’ Daboll and Schoen: Stay or go? | ESPN.com
Has the bar dropped so low that a 2-15 or 3-14 campaign can be excused? This, following a mess of a 6-11 season where Daboll fought with defensive coordinator Wink Martindale and needed to replace half his staff. The Giants were once such a proud organization that Tom Coughlin had to grovel for his job after his third year despite making the playoffs in each of the two previous seasons. Now, can a two or three-win campaign somehow be justified?
There reaches a point where keeping the coach and/or general manager becomes bad for business. It can affect sponsorship, ticket sales, and the overall brand. That is when coaches and general managers get fired, when it’s bad for ownership’s pockets.

Giants 2025: Salary cap shouldn’t stand in way of improvement; NY has money to spend | The Athletic
If Joe Schoen gets a fourth year as Giants general manager, he’ll have plenty of money to spend on a roster in dire need of upgrades. And if Schoen gets fired, he’ll leave his replacement a much better cap situation than the one he inherited from Dave Gettleman in 2022.
The Giants are projected to have $57.3 million in cap space next year. That’s a highly fluid number at this point, but it’s the 14th-highest projection in the league, so they’re well-positioned to spend.
Giants haven’t gotten desired change after last year’s special teams firing | New York Post
The Giants rank No. 23 in the NFL in special teams efficiency, according to ESPN’s Football Power Index. The more specific ranks are No. 22 in converting field goals (80 percent), No. 13 in kickoff coverage (26.4 yards per return), No. 22 in kickoff returns (26 yards per return), No. 26 in net punt coverage (40.4 yards) and No. 30 in net punt returns (7.3 yards). Their returners are tied for the most combined fumbles (five), but their kick-blockers have delivered twice, including a victory-clincher against the Seahawks.
Dabs’ Digest: Week 15 conversation with Coach Brian Daboll | Giants.com
Q: With the spate of injuries that you have, how does it complicate your preparation for the game? Do you pick a starting 22 that are healthy to practice and can play special teams, and then reassess tomorrow and the next day?
Daboll: “You have the guys that are healthy, that you know are going to be out there, then you’ve got to put them in spots that they’ve got to get ready to play. It compounds it with who are the backups, practice squad guys, who do you have to get ready. So, there’s plenty of conversations to make sure that the guys that are potentially out there, that they are given the opportunity to get ready.”
New York Giants’ lost season has some small silver linings | USAToday.com
Inside linebackers Bobby Okereke and Micah McFadden are building their resumes further this season. Okereke needs seven tackles to achieve his fourth straight 100-plus tackle season (second with the Giants). Last week, McFadden became the fifth player in the past five seasons with five tackles for a loss in a single game. This week, he’s aiming for his fourth game in a row at home with 11-plus tackles.

So that begs the question: what’s the bigger challenge – coaching aggressiveness into a quarterback who does not take chances, or coaching that out of the position for the sake of eliminating risk at this level?
“I think you’d always like to say, ‘Whoa,’ rather than ‘Giddy up,’” New York Giants pass game coordinator and quarterbacks coach Shea Tierney said last week.
Top 2025 Sam Darnold Landing Spots as Vikings, QB Reportedly Not Talking Extension | Bleacher Report
The Giants would have the second overall pick in next year’s draft if the season ended today, and they could opt for a signal-caller. However, Darnold would be a near-ideal fit for Daboll’s offense. However, Darnold’s combination of size (6’3″, 225 lbs), arm strength and pocket mobility would allow Daboll to utilize many of the concepts he used with Josh Allen.
It’s not hard to look at some of the big plays Darnold has delivered in Minnesota and imagine him doing the same with Malik Nabers in New York.

Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers owns a house for the first time — and he is taking plenty of security precautions
It was part of a dream he could finally realize when the Giants drafted him sixth overall this spring. Nabers, a promising 21-year-old wide receiver, grew up in Lafayette, Louisiana, where his family struggled financially and his single mom, Tonya Nabers, worked two jobs.

Baltimore Ravens with perfect practice attendance heading into Week 15 vs. Giants | Baltimore Beatdown
The only absences this week were rookies Sanoussi Kane (hamstring), who has been out for a couple week, and Adisa Isaac (hamstring), who was out on Thursday. Both players returned to the field, though their participation is likely to be limited as they worked on the far field during the media available portion of practice.
Ravens Refuse to Take Giants Lightly | SI.com
“The challenge is playing the team that we’re playing, and this team has really good players, and this team has a lot of motivation to play well. They’re going to be motivated to win the game,” said Ravens head coach John Harbaugh. “That’s the way it is in the National Football League. There’s no difficulty in getting ready for a team, we understand how good every single team is. The New York Giants are a very talented, very tough [and] very well-coached football team. They’re very capable, and we’re going to have to play our best football to win the game. That’s what we’re focused on.”
Game Preview: Ravens vs. Giants | Everything You Need to Know | BaltimoreRavens.com
The Ravens are 13-3 under John Harbaugh in games that immediately follow their bye week. This situation looks made to order for Baltimore – well-rested, healthy, and facing an opponent that has been struggling. However, a win in the NFL can never be taken for granted, and the Ravens can’t afford a slip in their quest to win the division.
