The night before his birthday.
While Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was in Dallas helping the Bengals to a 27-20 victory over the Cowboys, a thief (or thieves) broke in to his home, per WLWT.
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the break-in to Burrow’s Anderson Township home but did not provide any further details. A 911 caller stated that her daughter was in the house while Burrow was gone and called the police for advice on what to do.
“Someone is trying to break into the house right now. My daughter is there. This is Joe Burrow’s house. She is staying there. He’s at the football game. She’s wondering what she should do, if she should be hiding, or if she should go outside,” the caller said. “She said someone was in the house.”
On the call, the woman in Burrow’s house can be heard talking to a man, who dispatch confirmed worked security at the home. There was also an officer stationed outside of the home. Still, an intruder broke into a bedroom window and ransacked a bedroom.
Thankfully, nobody was hurt in the incident.
After break-ins to Patrick Mahomes’ and Travis Kelce’s homes during away games, the NFL did send out a security notice to all players and there were reports that the FBI is investigating the trend of players’ homes being burglarized during away games.
