It’s probably enough at this point…
The Eagles have tried their best under head coach Nick Sirianni to eliminate distractions throughout the season, but here we are, on a nine-game winning streak and everyone is talking about a perceived rift between Jalen Hurts and A.J. Brown.
Sunday’s win over the Panthers brought a lot of attention to the struggles in the passing game, and everyone ran with the idea that Brown was throwing Hurts under the bus by highlighting “passing” as an area they need to improve when he spoke to reporters after the game. Whether the WR was alluding to Hurts, or the offensive scheme as a whole, the flames were further fanned when Brandon Graham made comments on 94WIP about Hurts and Brown’s friendship.
BG eventually walked back his comments, saying that he had it all wrong, and also acknowledged that he shouldn’t have spoken about the situation publicly. But, the damage was done. The major story across national outlets is all about Hurts and Brown, with the quarterback’s play being unfairly picked apart as a result.
Not only is Hurts now being dragged through the mud, but every single coach and player, past and present, is being asked about the rumored feud — which seems like quite the distraction for a team that clinched a playoff spot and is desperately hoping to avoid a similar end to their 2023 season.
Sirianni spoke about the matter when he called in to 94WIP for his weekly chat.

Offensive coordinator Kellen Moore was asked about it during his weekly press conference.
“I think they work each and every day together, and I think it speaks to just how much work these guys put into this thing. And, ultimately, everyone’s competitive — everyone’s competitive, everyone wants to help the team in every possible way. For players, it’s usually about their ability to perform and help the team in some capacity that way.
We gotta special group. I think they work really, really well together. A.J. [Brown], Jalen [Hurts], Saquon [Barkley], Smitty [DeVonta Smith], the whole group. When you spend each and every day around the building, and you’re seeing these guys connecting and working in meetings, and after meetings, after practice — we got a special group.”
Offensive guard Landon Dickerson even chimed in.
Landon Dickerson on the 94WIP Players Lounge:
“I don’t believe we’re anywhere close to [last year] or anything.
“A.J., I think, is a great dude. I don’t think he has a selfish bone in his body. I think also he just understands the type of team and caliber of team we can be.” pic.twitter.com/LH0MNoM539

It should come as no surprise that A.J. Brown works extremely hard and takes his work extremely serious. The WR has always held himself and his teammates to a high standard, and him airing frustrations — that most of the Eagles fanbase agreed with following that game — should hardly be news. Even if that frustration is directed at Jalen Hurts, that doesn’t mean that their entire relationship is fractured.
This whole thing feels way overblown at this point, and the faster coaches and players move on from commenting about it, the faster we can focus on the Steelers and actually start fixing things on the field.
