Week 14 concludes with the Cincinnati Bengals and Dallas Cowboys battling it out on “Monday Night Football.” Come chat with us in our open thread.
The NFL closes out Week 14 with a game that looked much better before the season than it does heading into “Monday Night Football,” as the Dallas Cowboys (5-7) welcome in the Cincinnati Bengals (4-8). These two franchises have only met 14 times in their histories with the Cowboys holding a 10-4 advantage, including winning six of the last seven matchups.
In Cincinnati’s last four games, the Bengals offense has scored 41, 34, 27, and 38 points, but they have only come away with one win, which came over the Raiders. The Bengals have done a nice job of hanging in games—seven of their eight losses have been one-score games—but they’ve had a very hard time closing things out when given the opportunity.
Meanwhile, after losing to the Lions in mid-October, the Cowboys dropped four in a row, before going on a two-game winning streak, which they bring into this game. With Dak Prescott on injured reserve, they’ve turned to Cooper Rush to lead the offense, but it’s been their defense that has helped them get their recent wins. They’ll have a much tougher time with Joe Burrow-led offense this week.
Betting line and pick for the game
The folks over at FanDuel Sportsbook are favoring Cincinnati in this game with the betting line being set at Bengals -5.5 points. Despite the Bengals losing three straight and the Cowboys winning their last two, I’m not convinced the Cowboys can keep pace with the Bengals offense.
Prediction: Bengals 30-20
