The Detroit Lions are finally, FINALLY off. After nine straight games following their ridiculous Week 5 bye plus a gauntlet of three games in 11 days, they have an extra three days of rest this week before they prepare for the Buffalo Bills.
That break is also very much appreciated by certain media members and maybe some fans, too. For me, there’s not much better than spending a Sunday with Red Zone fired up, and not a care in the world.

Of course, if you’re a Lions fan, there are really only two relevant games on Sunday: The Falcons vs. Vikings and Panthers vs. Eagles. We’re all big Atlanta and Carolina fans this week.
But if you’re not interested in concerning yourself over whether Detroit will get any help in their playoff-seeding races, Week 14 has plenty else to offer. Here’s a look at the early and mid-afternoon game slate:
