Flott ruled questionable after practicing fully this week
Things just seem to keep going from bad to worse for the New York Giants.
The team added cornerback Cor’Dale Flott to their injury report Saturday morning with a “quad/knee” injury, and have officially listed him as “Questionable” for this week’s game against the New Orleans Saints.
The Giants will already be without CB Deonte Banks (rib), LB Bobby Okereke (back), and DL Rakeem Nunez-Roches (neck/shoulder), who were all ruled out in Friday’s injury report. The team will also likely be without OT Jermaine Eluemunor (quad) and iDL D.J. Davidson (shoulder), who were ruled “doubtful” on Friday.
Flott practiced fully this week, and his “quad/knee” seems to be a new development. He had been ruled “doubtful” for the Giants’ Week 8 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers with a groin injury.
The Giants have added players to their injury report on Saturday in previous weeks this season, and those late additions have tended to miss that week’s game. Flott has seemingly taken a step forward in his third season and has played well as a starting outside corner in recent weeks.
If Flott misses the game, the Giants will be relying on Adoree Jackson, Art Green, and Tre Hawkins III as outside cornerbacks, while Dru Phillips continues to man the slot.
The Saints’ receiving corps has been ravaged by injury as well, but the Giants could really use Flott to help keep some part of New Orleans’ offense in check.
