NY Giants rookies: Time is now for strong class to step up and be heard | The Record
That time, for the youngest Giants, is now to step up as the heartbeat within a frustrated locker room desperately seeking peer-to-peer direction. Not only does the team need to hear what the rookies are saying – to a man, the Giants must listen to the message regardless of how it is being delivered.
It’s not only time for the rookie class to find its voice together, but for the rest of the Giants’ locker room to realize it is in everybody’s best interest to listen. The future of the franchise might just depend on it.
Malik Nabers: Just feed me the ball
Malik Nabers talks about his “I don’t care if I drop it six times, keep throwing it to me” comments after last week’s game:
“I just can’t think about going into the game dropping the ball. I just gotta move forward. Not selfish what I’m saying. It’s a next play mentality” pic.twitter.com/M15pc710xb

Report Card Grades for 2024 NFL Draft 1st-Round Picks | Bleacher Report
New York Giants: WR Malik Nabers, B. Immediate returns on the Giants’ investment in wide receiver Malik Nabers looked great. Then, things began to change. Through his first four games, he caught a league-leading 35 balls for 386 yards and three touchdowns. Unfortunately, he suffered a concussion during the final game of that stretch.
In the rookie’s last six games, he caught 40 passes for 354 yards. While there are reasons to be frustrated within the Giants’ locker room, these issues don’t need to fester or come out publicly.
Why these Giants’ futures may depend on how they close an otherwise lost season | New York Post
There is always something to play for. No game is meaningless.
The standings may indicate otherwise, of course, especially in the case of the Giants, who have nothing tangible to achieve in the last five games of this dismal season. Their 2025 NFL Draft positioning will rise and fall, depending on how they fare each week.
New York Giants survey results: Fans have lost faith in Brian Daboll, Joe Schoen | The Athletic
When we surveyed New York Giants fans last year around this time, the vast majority wanted coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen to return for another season despite the team’s dismal 3-8 record. One year later, it seems most Giants fans have run out of patience and are fed up with the current regime.
If the event they both return, there isn’t much optimism they will be able to right the ship. About 70% of those surveyed had a low level of confidence (a 1 or a 2) that the duo could turn things around, while another 21.4% were in the middle (3). Just 8.4% had confidence (4 or 5) the pair could lead the Giants where they want to go.
Giants’ final five games huge for Kayvon Thibodeaux’s future | New York Post
Thibodeaux will be eligible for a contract extension for the first time in his career after the season ends. The timing is not as good for him as it would have been coming off of last season when the Pro Bowl snub had the leverage of 11.5 sacks — the most by a Giant since 2014.
“The Giants should try to offer him early, but it will be a nearly impossible deal to do,” CBS Sports contract analyst and former NFL agent Joel Corry told The Post. “If I’m him, I’m going to wait because there are going to be some changes [inflating] the pass-rush market. Thibodeaux has no incentive to do a deal because the Giants would rightfully not give him what they think it’s going to be, based on what happened this year.”
Presser Points: QB Drew Lock to start vs. Saints | Giants.com
Tyre Phillips is “improving” after a long injury layoff. “He remembers all the stuff that we’ve done, but he’s still catching up to the technique and being out there every day and coming off that injury.” Phillips started 14 games for the Giants from 2022-23, including nine last season at right tackle before he tore a quad tendon in Week 17. Phillips underwent surgery for the injury and had been a free agent until last month.
The Last Captain Standing

2025 NFL mock draft: Shedeur Sanders, Cam Ward go top 3 in polarizing class | The Athletic
3. New York Giants: Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado In one of the more polarizing draft classes we’ve seen, Sanders is arguably the most polarizing prospect. Some NFL teams have graded him as an adequate NFL starter, while others are more optimistic. I don’t know how the Giants feel, but I do believe Brian Daboll can get the most out of Sanders in the NFL

3.New York Giants Cam Ward, QB, Miami (FL). I’d have a hard time selling myself on taking Cameron Ward this high, but I see the appeal. Despite the tendency to make boneheaded throws, Ward is an elite athlete with a terrific throwing motion. He’s got the guts needed to overcome his bad decisions, too, which is something Brian Daboll may appreciate and can maximize.
This week’s opponent
Rodric Teamer suspended three games for violating NFL’s Substances of Abuse Policy | NewOrleansSaints.com
Roderic Teamer of the New Orleans Saints is suspended three games without pay for violating the NFL’s Substances of Abuse Policy, it was announced today. Teamer will be eligible for reinstatement on December 24 following the Saints’ Week 16 game against the Green Bay Packers.
32 NFL observations after Week 13: Kenneth Walker III and James Conner have proven to be tough to tackle | PFF
Only 8.4% of the pressure faced by Derek Carr has turned into a sack, the lowest of any passer.
Interesting travel note about the Saints
Saints are going to be traveling up to New York (really New Jersey) on Friday this week. Sounds like they’ll be doing their final walkthrough outdoors to try to get a little more acclimated to the temperature.
