Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 12/3/24

This past Sunday Cooper Kupp caught three receptions for 17 yards, and though he may not have helped too many people in fantasy football, he helped the Rams win while those catches set an NFL record. According to the link/article below Kupp has now caught 625 balls in his first 100 games.

It’s an NFL record (perhaps Puka Nacua will someday break it) and it’s a huge accomplishment for the Los Angeles Rams’ legend.

So, congrats to the Rams for the win, congrats to Kupp and thanks to you (the reader) for checking out Turf Show Times! Have a great Tuesday!

Kupp sets record, most receptions in first 100 career games (espn.com)

“NEW ORLEANS — Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp played in his 100th NFL game Sunday, ending the game with an NFL record 625 catches in his career, the most in a player’s first 100 games — pushing him past wide receiver Keenan Allen.

He found out about the milestone in the shower after the game, from an apologetic coach Sean McVay who didn’t find out about the record until after he had given out game balls for the Rams’ 21-14 victory over the New Orleans Saints.

“He’s a special player,” McVay said. “He’s a more special person. His work ethic, everything that he’s about is the right kind of stuff, and really happy for him and really disappointed that I didn’t get a chance to recognize that in real time.

“Kupp credited the team, saying, “It’s a cool thing to have been a part of an organization that’s put me in positions to go do that.”

Rams Claim Former First-Round Pick Defensive Star (newsweek)

“Forbes’ rookie year was underwhelming, particularly after the intense scrutiny that goes into being a first-round pick, and this year has not been much of an improvement. He underwent surgery for a torn ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) in his right thumb after the opening game of the 2024 season.

Forbes finished the season with the Commanders allowing a 103.0 passer rating, with just one interception and 11 pass breakups, earning a poor 35.4 overall grade from Pro Football Focus. He appeared in only six of the Commanders’ 12 games.”

Rams’ Final Sequence Showed Resiliency In Sunday’s Win (si.com)

“The Los Angeles Rams (6-6) executed to perfection down the stretch to lead them to their sixth win of the season, taking down the New Orleans Saints (4-8) on the road. In a 14-14 tie late in the fourth, the Rams made plays on both sides of the ball in the final drives to earn the win.

Early in the fourth quarters of Sunday’s matchup, the Rams gave up a touchdown and two-point conversion that would vanish their 14-6 lead. A tie ballgame would be taken into the late stages and the Rams needed a score to apply pressure on the Saints in the final minutes.”
