Running back and the Packers continue hot streak on Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving weekend wasn’t kind to the Las Vegas Raiders and a couple of former Raiders, Derek Carr and Davante Adams. However, Josh Jacobs continued to shine in Week 13 as he and the Green Bay Packers extended their hot streak.
Josh Jacobs
- Stats: 19 carries, 43 yards, 1 TD, 4 catches, 74 yards
- Game result: 30-17 Packers win
Green Bay has won three games in a row and seven of its last eight to firmly be in the NFC Wild Card race and have a chance at winning the NFC North, heading into a huge Thursday Night Football matchup with the Detroit Lions this week.
Jacobs didn’t have a productive night on the ground, but he managed to rack up 100 yards from scrimmage for the fifth week in a row. He’s already had more total yards (1,247) in 2024 than in 2023 (1,101) and is on pace to finish with 1,766 total yards, the second-most of his career behind the 2022 rushing championship campaign.

Derek Carr
- Stats: 24/37, 184 yards, 1 TD
- Game result: 21-14 Saints lose
New Orleans came into the weekend on a two-game win streak after firing former Raiders’ head coach Dennis Allen but Sunday was a different story. Carr and the offense couldn’t get much going as they only scored one touchdown on the afternoon. Albeit on a nice 28-yard pass to Marquez Valdez-Scantling.
Las Vegas is scheduled to face its franchise passing leader in Week 17, but it wouldn’t be surprising if Carr gets benched before then as the Saints sit at 4-8 and could be looking toward the future at that point. According to Over The Cap, New Orleans could save $30 million of cap space by making him a post-June 1 cut. The organization has two young quarterbacks in Spencer Rattler and Jake Haener that the front office might want to evaluate.

Davante Adams
- Stats: 5 catches, 66 yards, 1 TD
- Game result: 26-21 Jets lose
At one point, it looked like Aaron Rodgers, Adams and the Jets might run away with this one. New York came out of the gates hot and led 21-7 in the second quarter. But the aging duo quickly expired as Rodgers’ pick-six to defensive tackle Leonard Williams (yes, you read that right) turned the game on its head.
The Seahawks rattled off 19 unanswered points to take the lead as the Jets didn’t score in the second half to drop their record to 3-9, one game better than the Raiders. So, Adams isn’t doing much more winning with his new club and the third-round pick Las Vegas received for him will likely be toward the top of the draft order.
