The good guys trail going into halftime.
Both teams are heading into the locker room for halftime in Minneapolis, with the Minnesota Vikings trailing the Arizona Cardinals by a score of 9-6 in a battle of field goals.
The Cardinals had the ball in Minnesota territory after a turnover, but the Cardinals’ drive stalled and they called on Chad Ryland for a 45-yard field goal attempt. Ryland’s kick sailed wide right and the fumble lost by Aaron Jones resulted in no damage to the Vikings.
Minnesota’s offense then went three-and-out and a big punt by Ryan Wright put the Cardinals down at their own 16-yard line to start their next possession. They pushed down the field and once again got into the red zone and Ryland connected from 31 to make it a 6-3 ball game with six minutes left in the half.
The Vikings got the ball to the Arizona 29-yard line at the two-minute warning, but Sam Darnold got sacked again and the Vikings brought on Parker Romo for a 55-yard field goal attempt. Romo blasted it through and the game was once again tied up at 6-6.
Arizona took their two-minute drive and pushed into Minnesota territory once again, and once again they called on Chad Ryland for a field goal attempt, and his 24-yarder was good to make it 9-6 going into the half.
Not a lot of action so far from U.S. Bank Stadium, but the Vikings will get the football coming out of the locker room so hopefully something will change.
