The Chiefs host the Raiders at home in NFL’s second annual Black Friday game
The NFL premiered on Black Friday last season and has since decided to make it an annual event and completely take over the Thanksgiving weekend. This year, we will get the Kansas City Chiefs hosting the Las Vegas Raiders in a matchup between two AFC West opponents.
At the top of the AFC West are the Chiefs at 10-1. While the Chiefs have only lost one game, over half of their wins have come on the final play, including last week against the Carolina Panthers. Somehow, the Chiefs simply just find a way to win and they’ve been doing it all season.
On the opposite end and at the bottom of the division are the Raiders at 2-9. The Raiders have lost seven straight games, including a 27-20 loss to the Chiefs a month ago. Starting quarterback Gardner Minshew is out for the season, meaning Aidan O’Connell will be getting the start. With just six weeks to go, the end of the season can’t get here fast enough for the Raiders.
According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Chiefs are 13.5-point favorite against the Raiders. That seems like a huge line for a team that has played in a lot of close games this season. Even if the Chiefs do go up by two scores, it’s easy to see a back-door cover situation. Still, I’ll take the Chiefs at home in this one to cover. The Raider haven’t been good, losing by 15 last week to the Dolphins. They also have a new starting quarterback.
The Pick: Chiefs (-13.5)
Season Record: 16-21
