Bears and Dolphins looked bad on Thanksgiving Day after beating Rams earlier in year
One thought that probably entered your head while sitting with the family watching football on Thanksgiving: “how in the world did the Los Angeles Rams lose to both of the Chicago Bears and Miami Dolphins?”
Chicago moves to 4-8 on the season after losing to the Detroit Lions. The Bears scored 13 unanswered fourth quarter points to narrow the margin to three; however, Caleb Williams completely botched the clock management and time expired on a deep passing attempt with Chicago near field goal range.
Caleb Williams admits to CHANGING the 3rd down play with time running out:
“We got lined up, got the play & then I made an adjustment cuz I saw the clock running down, knowing that if we complete a ball inbounds, we won’t have time to kick a FG.”

The Dolphins were hoping to put together their third-consecutive win and claw back to .500, but the Green Bay Packers had other plans. Green Bay come out on top 30-17 and the Dolphins now have seven losses in what will be a competitive AFC playoff picture. It might be time to put a fork in them.

The Rams are also circling the drain this season at 5-6. The outlook would look much more optimistic if LA could have strung together wins against middling teams; however, the Rams keep failing litmus tests and it’s time to conclude that they are also mediocre this year.
LA was 1-2 when they fell to the Bears 18-24. Another loss versus the Packers brought them to their low point at 1-3.
It was impressive that the Rams were able to five back to a .500 record, but Miami knocked them back down a peg by winning on Monday Night Football 23-15.
The Rams have a winnable game this weekend versus the New Orleans Saints. If they win, they’ll be 6-6 and still alive in a tight but middling NFC West division race. LA has little life left in the wildcard race.
We keep getting more information about all teams across the NFL, and the more we learn the more middle-of-the-pack this Rams team seems to be.
