Your open thread for Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving New York Giants fans!
We have a triple helping of football for your Turkey Day. We start with an appetizer of the Detroit Lions vs. Chicago Bears, followed by the Green Bay Packers vs. the Miami Dolphins as desert.
We’ll get to the main course of the Giants and Dallas Cowboys in a separate piece.
Lions vs. Bears
Chris’ pick – Wait, shouldn’t this be Lions vs. Cowboys? Whatever. I’m going to pick the Lions to win. I don’t think this is going to be quite as lopsided as the 9.5-point spread, but the Lions are just too good right now. The Bears are headed in the right direction — though they might need a coaching change to get everything in order — but the Lions are among the class of the NFC.
Even without Aidan Hutchinson, the Lions’ defense is too good, and they have one of the best offenses in the NFL. I expect the game to be more competitive than the teams’ respective records would suggest, but it’d be a hell of an upset for Chicago to pull this out.

Packers vs. Dolphins
Chris’ pick – I’m pretty sure everyone except the Green Bay fans would prefer this game was played in Miami.
And while I suspect I’ll be wrong, I’m actually going to pick the Dolphins for the upset here. FanDuel sports book has the Packers as a 3.5-point favorite at home. However, the Dolphins have been a different team since Tua Tagovailoa has returned from injury, and their speed is tough for any team to deal with. They’re rolling right now, and they might catch the Packers off guard.
Of course, this game really could go either way and Jordan Love’s game is pretty volatile. He’s just as likely to go off and make this a laugher for the Packers.
