The Miami Dolphins have turned around their 2024 season, winning three straight games to jump into the AFC playoff picture. The team’s fan confidence rating mirrors that turnaround as it prepares for its Thanksgiving night game against the Green Bay Packers.
Miami is 5-6 on the season and in the eighth place in the AFC standings. They need to move up at least one more position if they want to make the postseason for the third straight year, a move that will require continued winning along with some help from other teams in the conference. After a 2-6 start to the year, that the Dolphins are even in consideration for the playoffs is a tremendous feat.
Our SB Nations Reacts poll, brought to us by FanDuel sportsbook, examines how the fans feel about the Dolphins’ direction in Week 13.
Are the Miami Dolphins headed in the right direction? – Week 13 results
The Dolphins’ turnaround, led by exceptional play from quarterback Tua Tagovailoa who missed four games earlier in the season with a head injury, has positioned the team back within the national conversation and within reach of a postseason spot. Facing them this weekend, however, is a tough matchup against the Packers, with the Dolphins needing to change the narratives surrounding the team, including the team’s inability to win against good teams and the team struggling in cold weather games.
After a rough start to the season, we saw multiple weeks of results in our SB Nation Reacts confidence poll where a single-digit percentage of fans responded they believe in the direction of the team. That started to change two weeks ago as 41 percent of the fans were starting to trust the team again.
Last week, the results took another leap forward, with 65 percent of the fans backing the team. Now, as they come off their win over the New England Patriots in Week 12 and facing the Packers in Week 13, 79 percent of the Dolphins’ fan base think the team is headed in the right direction.

Dolphins opponent fan confidence: Green Bay Packers
Green Back is currently holding an NFC wild-card position, but they are doin1g it as the third-place team in the NFC North. Despite their 8-3 record, they are chasing the Detroit Lions, who are 10-1 and holding on to a two-game lead over Green Bay. The Packers may be the sixth-seed in the conference, but they have been playing good football and look like they could be a factor with a late-postseason run.
The Packers started their season with a loss before winning back-to-back games in Weeks 2 and 3. After a Week 4 loss to their NFC North rivals, the Minnesota Vikings, the Packers ran off four-straight wins. After another division loss, this time to the Lions, Green Bay headed into their Week1 0 bye. Since the break, the Packers have won their last two games and come into Thursday’s game with a ton of momentum.
Packers fan confidence matches their on-field success this season. They started the year with 95 percent of the fans feeling like the team was headed in the right direction, but saw some up-and-down movement over the first 12 weeks of the season. Their low for the year was only 72 percent, however, with the vast majority of their fans backing the team’s direction all season long. As Thursday’s game approaches, the Packers are sitting at an 88 percent approval rating.
